Our Story Our founder, Alastair Blue, began his career in the funeral profession in 2014. Since then, he has had the privilege of caring for countless families throughout Glasgow and Lanarkshire, guiding them through some of life's most challenging moments. Throughout his career, Alastair has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience working with national funeral providers, smaller independent funeral directors and large, well-established family-run businesses. These experiences have given him a valuable understanding of the profession, but more importantly, have helped shape his belief in how funeral care should be delivered. In 2024, Alastair achieved his Level 4 Higher Diploma in Funeral Directing through the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), further demonstrating his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professional care. After 12 years of dedication to the funeral profession, Alastair decided that 2026 was the right time to take the next step in his journey and establish his own family-run funeral business. Alastair Blue & Co. Funeral Directors was founded on the values that have always mattered most to him: compassion, honesty, professionalism and a genuine commitment to the families entrusted into his care. Having worked across different areas of the profession, Alastair wanted to create something truly personal. A funeral directors where families are never treated as just another arrangement, where time is taken to listen, and where every detail, no matter how small, is given the care and attention it deserves.
